ECLL Marching in Elgin's July 4th Parade

Once again Elgin Classic Little League will be marching in Elgin's 4th of July parade

When:  The parade is the morning of the Thursday, July 4 and starts at 9 am.  But we will begin lining up at 8am.

Where:  Our staging spot will be on Brook Street, between Jefferson and Plum

What:  We will be walking the parade, throwing out candy, handing out freeze pops, and passing out flyers for Fall Baseball registration.

Who:  All baseball and softball players, managers, coaches and volunteers are invited to march with us - whether you played this past spring, last fall, or anytime in the past.  The more the merrier!

What to wear:  Wear your spring team's jersey and hat with shorts and good walking shoes (it will likely be warm and humid).

What to bring:  Candy to throw out, buckets to hold the candy, water bottle, wagon to pull younger ones in, and sunscreen.

What is provided:  Candy! We will provide candy to be thrown out along the parade route and will dole it out to ensure there is some to throw out at the end of the parade this year.  (Feel free to bring your own as well if you like.)  We will also provide freeze pops to pass out and bottles of water to refresh our walkers and keep everyone hydrated.  We will also have flyers for Fall Ball registration to pass out to people along the parade route.

How to sign up:  No sign up or RSVP required.  Just show up at our staging area on between 8 and 9 am on July 4th!  Last year we had close to 50 walking.  We'd love to shatter that number this year!

Other important info:  The parade will go on rain or shine. (Elgin says it will only be cancelled if the weather is dangerous.) You can check for cancellation at www.cityofelgin.org/july4.
