New Baseball Bat Standards for 2018

Little League International recently revised rule 1.10 regarding baseball bat standards. You can click here to go directly to the Little League website for more information.  But here is a brief summary:

Little League has adopted the new USA Baseball Bat Standard.  Little League approved baseball bats that were approved for use for the 2017 season will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League game or activity as of January 1, 2018.  All approved bats must have the USA Baseball mark on them (Majors Division and below).  Approved bats are now available for purchase in retail stores.

When shopping for a new bat, look for the USA Baseball logo. Further information based on division is below.

Tee Ball: Certified Tee Ball bats are 26" or shorter and feature the USA baseball mark and text which reads "only for use with approved tee balls."

Minor (AA and AAA)/Major Divisions: Bats shall not be more than 33" long nor more than 2 5/8" in diameter and will have the USA baseball mark.

Intermediate (50/70) Division and Junior League: Bats shall not be more than 34" long nor more than 2 5/8" in diameter and will have the USA baseball mark or meet the BBCOR standard.

Senior League: Bats shall not be more than 36" long nor more than 2 5/8" in diameter and must meet the BBCOR standard.
